On Saturday, August 28th at 9:15 am in the red room an information/registration brunch will be held for the Beth Moore Bible study on Daniel: Lives of Integrity; Words of Prophecy. Just as the prophet Daniel faced unbelievable pressure to compromise his faith in a hostile culture and was constantly confronted by temptations and threats, today’s believers face similar trials. The first six sessions of the study deal with Daniel’s life as he faced the kind of pressures and temptations Christians encounter today. Daniel models how to develop enduring integrity in an enticing world. The second six sessions of the study explore thrilling prophecies from the time of Daniel through the second coming of Christ. The aim of the study is to help women boldly live in our modern-day Babylon without falling prey to its allure. Orders and payment for the cost of the workbook ($16) will be taken on the 28th. Complimentary childcare can be arranged with advance notice by August 23 to Jackie Fredrickson. The actual study will begin on Saturday, September 11 at 9:15 am.

A mandatory meeting for parents and students will be held at the church sanctuary Wednesday, August 25 at 7:00 pm. Mentors will meet the same day at 6:30. Classes start Wednesday, September 1. Enrollment forms are available at the Welcome Desk. If you are interested in being a mentor or class instructor contact Stephanie Mackeprang.

We’re looking for teachers for the upcoming year. If you are interested in helping, sign up on the bulletin board in the Education hallway. Must be high school age or older.

Save The Date! The Waffle Man is coming to Holy Savior! Join us Thursday, September 30th from 5:00-8:00 pm. Tickets will go on sale in September for $5 per person. Kids ages 4 and under are free. The Waffle Man will be serving big 9” Belgian waffles (all you can eat), sausages, and drinks. Proceeds will be used as a fundraiser for the Food Bank and mission project by LWML.

Anyone wishing to apply for tuition assistance to one of the member schools of the Lincoln Lutheran School Association who did not receive an application can pick one up from the Children’s Ministry mailbox located just outside the office door. Deadline to apply is August 1st.

Four prayer vigils will be held at Holy Savior Lutheran Church during the next two months to enhance spiritual life. The first is a 24 hour vigil on August 13 and 14. Each individual prayer makes a difference. We are asking you to commit to sign up for one hour! A sign up board is in the church narthex on the west wall before you enter the sanctuary.

Next mission trip to Tijuana will be January 6-15, 2011. See the sign up sheet on the Missions Board in the Education Hallway to reserve your spot with the team. Contact Sarah Fuller with any questions.

Are you looking for an opportunity to be active at church? We need volunteers for the Multimedia team. Basic computer skills helpful. Will train anyone interested. High school age and over. Contact: Terry or Shelly Andre.

Donations of coffee are needed for the coffee bar. Donations can be dropped off at the coffee bar. If you would like to have this included on your financial statement, please turn your receipt in to Andrea in the office. Be sure to put your name on the receipt.
