Marriage Enrichment Opportunities Three great programs are now available at Holy Savior for members and friends of our congregation to assist Christian couples in their quest to experience a more healthy and Biblical relationship. Each program is based on over 20 years of research with over a million Christian couples.
Empowering Couples is a ten week “group” class that assists each participating couple in (1) building their couple strength, (2) learning communication and conflict resolution skills, (3) identifying stumbling blocks in their relationship, (4) turning their stumbling blocks into stepping stone strengths, and (5) empowering them to build stronger and more Biblical marriages. Each class session includes couple exercises, group discussion and large group presentations. Each “Empowering Couples” class is ten weeks long and will be held on Thursday evenings beginning on September 11th at 7 pm. Cost: $25 per couple for materials. Scholarships may be available for those in financial need. Class Leaders: Pastor Bob & Marge Swearer.
Enrich Counseling is a private Pastoral counseling experience designed to accommodate the needs of couples experiencing the pain of marital challenges. After the couple completes the “Enrich” assessment questionnaire, it is analyzed by Life Innovations in Minneapolis, MN and a detailed report is returned. During a period of five to seven sessions, the couple is able to identify with Pastor Swearer where they can build on their strength areas, begin to address their growth areas that often serve as the root of marital anxiety, and discuss the Biblical criteria for forgiveness and reconciliation. A referral for long term clinical marital counseling can be arranged at the completion of this pastoral counseling experience. Cost: $35 for questionnaire analysis. Scholarships may be available for those in financial need.
Prepare Counseling is a private Pastoral counseling experience designed to accommodate the needs of couples preparing for marriage. After the couple completes the “Prepare” assessment questionnaire, it is analyzed by Life Innovations in Minneapolis, MN and a detailed report is returned. During a period of three to five sessions, the couple is able to identify with Pastor Swearer how their impending marriage can be blessed as they can build on their relationship’s strength areas and understand God’s desire for them to address their growth areas. If the couple is having their marriage ceremony performed at Holy Savior, the cost for the Prepare Counseling is included in their marriage package fees. Cost: $35 for questionnaire analysis.
Please contact Pastor Swearer for more information.
